Chippewa Lake was once a beautiful, independently owned Amusement Park in Ohio. Eventually it was bought out by Continental Business Enterprises (who owned many other theme parks). In 1978 it officially went under like many other small amusement parks due to big rivals like Cedar Point. It has been abandoned ever since. The rides, buildings, and roads in the park are slowly being taken over by the forest around it.
This series of photographic works dually represent the fall of the independent American economy and nature’s uncontrollable and beautiful means of reclaiming the earth for itself.
